Art installation on Lake Constance: drinking water fountain and donation collector

Anyone who gets thirsty during a visit to the Regional Garden Show 2021 in Überlingen on Lake Constance will be helped – and can do some good at the same time. The large water altar designed by Berlin artist Tina Zimmermann (www.tinaz.net) will make visitors aware that precious water is a valuable resource.

It rises high into the sky on the shore of the lake – in the style of a Gothic altar in Überlingen Minster – and invites visitors from afar to pause and reflect on the basic substance of life. For a donation of 1 euro, interested and thirsty people can fill up their water bottles with fresh drinking water from the Stadtwerk am See. Larger donations are also welcome, of course.

Half of the donations collected until 17 October 2021 will go to the WasserStiftung and half to VIVA CON AGUA and thus to drinking water and sanitation infrastructure projects in Ethiopia, Chile and Morocco, among others.
