Good news from Ethiopia: 128 water pumps already repaired in Amhara!

Of the at least 200 defective water pumps that will be repaired as part of our project, 128 are already working again. Around 60,000 people live in the remote districts of Farta, Guna Begmedir, Lay Gayent, Estie and Simada and are benefiting from the project.
The project is of particular benefit to women and children, who are spared the long, arduous journeys to transport water once access to water has been restored near the settlements.
Our Project SWAP (Safe Water Amhara Project) will run until February 2026. In addition to repairing defective pumps, the project aims to curb deforestation in the region and build expertise in the field of water management – in this case scientifically supported by a research project of the University of Bristol.
Many thanks to our sponsors!
